Meerbusch Celebrates History with 'The Mysterious Sea' Book Gift
Meerbusch is set to celebrate its history and culture with the upcoming distribution of 'The Mysterious Sea', a children's book funded by the Sparkassenstiftung in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The book, written by Birgit Wilms, will be gifted to elementary schools and kindergartens across the city.
The book, which tells the story of Meerbusch in a child-friendly way, will be translated into French, Japanese, Ukrainian, and English for distribution in Meerbusch's partner cities. Around 5,500 copies have been printed and are currently being finished at a local bookbinding company.
To engage young readers further, a painting competition based on the book's story has been launched for Meerbusch elementary schools. Cash prizes await the winners. The winning artworks will be exhibited, and the awards ceremony will be attended by Mayor Christian Bommers.
The 'The Mysterious Sea' book is not available for purchase, as it is a gift from the Sparkassenstiftung and participating sponsors to the children of Meerbusch. The book aims to educate and inspire young minds about their city's rich history and culture.
